About Genevieve Dunn

Genevieve Dunn, MA, R-DMT, born and raised on Oahu, has always loved dancing, singing, acting, and telling stories. She took her love of the arts and went to graduate school to learn how to utilize these forms of expression while providing therapy and creating change. She has a keen interest in furthering culturally sensitive therapy and service delivery.

Genevieve holds a master’s degree in dance/movement therapy and counseling from Antioch University New England. She received her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies – Storytelling through Oral Traditions, Creative Movement, and Musical Expression from Western Washington State University. Genevieve completed her DMT internship at the Hancock Center where she utilized Disarming the Playground with Rena Kornblum and provided individual and group therapy. Genevieve is also a certified DanceAbility instructor; an inclusive dance method accessible to all people focusing on improvisation and creative movement. She received her DanceAbility training with Alito Alessi in 2012 in Vienna, Austria.

Genevieve is offering dance/movement therapy, drama therapy, creative arts therapy, and DanceAbility on Oahu. She spent the past two years as a Staff Dance/Movement Therapist with the Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy in Madison, WI. Genevieve provided DMT for infants and parents, preschoolers, elementary school students, adults with developmental disabilities, and seniors with dementia.
